Miami Dolphins bring Chris “7-Eleven” Hogan back on practice squad

Dolphins fans can stop worrying that Bill Belichick will steal away receiver Chris “7-Eleven” Hogan after the Dolphins cut him on Friday — for now, anyway.

The Dolphins announced their eight-man practice squad Sunday night, and Hogan was one of two receivers, joining undrafted rookie Jeff Fuller, who played collegiately at Texas A&M. Fuller and Hogan give the Dolphins some depth at receiver, where they are searching for young players to develop. Fuller, at 6-foot-5, was the tallest receiver in training camp and has a familiarity with rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill, his former college teammate.

A practice squad player makes $5,700 per week and is not considered part of the active roster. Another team can sign a player off a practice squad at any time, but must keep that player on its 53-man roster for at least two weeks.

Seven of the eight practice squad players were in camp with the Dolphins. The full list:

WR Jeff Fuller
WR Chris Hogan
OL Chandler Burden
OT Andrew McDonald
LB Josh Kaddu
S Anderson Russell
LB Jonathan Freeny
CB De’Andre Presley

The one new face is Presley, an undrafted rookie out of Appalachian State who was recently cut by the Chargers. He is a raw prospect as a cornerback, as he was the Mountaineers’ starting quarterback his last two seasons at App State, but switched positions for the NFL because he stands only 5-10.

Kaddu was the team’s fifth-round pick who didn’t have a great camp and was cut on Saturday.
